The Training and Digital Hub helps newcomers and community members build the skills they need to find work. KWH supports learning for jobs, career development and community involvement.
The organisation prepares youth, newcomers, and residents in our community for opportunities created by Canada’s trade diversification, local infrastructure investments, and the changing economy.
Our workshops and support services help people gain certification, improve digital capability, and access guidance that strengthens their transition into work and community life.
Supporting Entry to the Workforce We help newcomers take their first steps into employment through accessible workshops and community-led learning. Participants gain skills valued by employers across sectors and receive guidance that improves their readiness for work.
Our sessions include:
Food Handling
CPR
First Aid
WHMIS
Digital Skills Training
Resume and Cover Letter Preparation
Supportive Housing Literacy
Legal Clinic Access
Food Hamper Support
Each one aims to remove obstacles, build trust, and train participants for entry into jobs and community roles.
Uniting Skills and Opportunity
The hub promotes access to recognised certifications such as food handling, CPR, and first aid. The credentials help newcomers meet job requirements in sectors like hospitality, support services, and community care.
We also connect participants with WHMIS knowledge and supportive housing information so they understand workplace safety and community systems. Our legal clinic offers guidance for people facing challenges that hinder work or settlement. The digital sessions guide people to use technology and communicate effectively at work.
Practical Skills for Career Success Participants receive advice on preparing resumes and cover letters which reflect their skills and goals. This support raises their confidence in job applications. For those facing food insecurity, our food hamper service provides essential support, helping individuals stabilise while they build their skills for the future.
Community Impact and Participation The Training and Digital Hub strengthens economic participation in the community. By improving access to certifications, digital skills, and guidance, we help people move toward employment, independence, and stability. The initiative reflects KWH’s commitment to equity, newcomer support, and practical pathways into meaningful work.
